The monolithic rock-cut temples of Masroor date back to the 8th century. Like many other monuments in Kangra, Masroor temples have also suffered severe damage during 1905 earthquake of Kangra. Looking at today’s state, it is hard to believe that originally there were 15 temples on this site. Even the surviving temples are in such a state that they could keep only one temple functional. You can still check out the carvings on the remains of the temples. The functional temple has stone images of Rama, Sita and Laxman. The temple complex is surrounded by the pristine and beautiful valley. You can see the soaring peaks of Dhauladhar Range from here. This site is 44 km from Dharamshala.
